I opened CoOccasions Hair Salon in 1978 after being hairdresser at Vidal Sassoons, where I had the privilege of working alongside some of the world’s leaders in hairdressing. This background gave me a strong artistic ethos to deliver excellence in every aspect of hairdressing in my business from my team and myself. To keep and maintain these standards, ongoing training is a must for everyone in the salon to achieve the hairstyle you want. This is achieved by attending only the very best courses for hairdressers:
- Vidal Sassoon’s Academy in London, for cutting techniques and inspiration.
- Wella’s London and Manchester Studios, for product knowledge, always changing.
- GHD for their straightening and curling techniques.
- The Patrick Cameron Studio, London, for long hair techniques.
- Tigi, for their funky hair styles.
I love everything about hairdressing, our fantastic loyal clients who come from near and far and my dedicated team.When a client comes to our Salon, they are our VIP’s, to be made to feel special whilst having an enjoyable relaxing and interesting time while they are with us.Our long established excellent reputation, was achieved and is maintained by having a great team and by using the best and latest products from brand leaders: Wella, SP, GHD, Tigi, Cloud Nine, The O, Great Length hair extensions etc. We not only sell these brands, we use them every day on our clients. We have the very latest electrical equipment, which is regularly tested or renewed and a fantastic modern salon in Cudworth, Barnsley, but also close to Shafton to work in! I am a very luck lady!

I have been a stylist with Co-Occasions for many years and am well know with my clients and their families and friends. Colouring is my speciality, in particular Colour Correction and specialist blends & tones. I also love to style and work with Afro-Caribean hair, especially straightening techniques. I enjoy cutting & styling contemporary hair designs & ensure I keep up with the latest catwalk trends.My Inspiration ~ I am inspired by what I do everyday, cutting & colouring hair! I get great satisfaction from my work & see each day as a challenge. My favourite style of the moment is asymentric cutting, I have my own favourite scissors - no-one else is allowed to use them! Colourwise I love mixing orange, ginger and red tones as these are more difficult to get just right!
